1 Peter 4:16
There is something about suffering that is like a refining fire to the Christian soul, especially when that suffering is because we cling to the truth of Christ. No one likes to suffer, but the Bible tells us to rejoice when the fiery trial comes to us. Suffering is a test. The way we suffer separates the true Christian from the imposter. Most Americans have not suffered for the name of Christ, but it is on the horizon, and moving toward us, like a freight train traveling downhill. When it arrives, let us suffer well for our King.Allow it to refine your soul.Allow it to be a witness to your faith. Father, help us to suffer well, and to rejoice in your plan to refine, for yourself, a people pleasing to you
v. 16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.
