2 Corinthians 5: 17
In 2Cor 5, Paul writes about our new life in Christ, and our death to self . Death is a word that carries with it a meaning of separation. When we die physically, our body is separated from our spirit. When we die to our flesh, we are separated from our old sinful self, and join together our spirit with God’s spirit. We are made new with the life of Christ. Even though we are made new, our old flesh nature continues to try to rise from the dead within us. Whether we are victorious or not, depends on the spirit of God within us. Kinda like two wolves fighting within us. One white, for new life in Christ, one black for our flesh. Do you know which one wins those fights? The one we feed the most.
Let me encourage you today to feed the spirit of Christ within you today, by being in a church with solid Bible teaching, and serving in that church. And then study the word of God throughout the week. Spend some time each day with the One who loves you the most. He loves you. He died for you, so you could live for Him..
Verse 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
