Psalm 34: 8
I remember an old Lay’s potato chip commercial that says you can’t eat just one. The idea was that if you eat one, you will want more, and so you would eat one, then another, then another, and on and on, because they were so good. Our text today is kinda like that about the goodness of God. The psalmist is expressing the goodness of God to his reader. It is a challenge that if the reader would just “taste”, he would discover the goodness of God, and that he would want more than just a “taste”, and he would want more and more and more of God’s goodness.
Could I encourage you this morning to be blessed by the presence of God? He is good… such an understatement. Do not go an hour without tasting His goodness my friend. I have an alarm on my computer that verbally speaks the time every 30 minutes. Why? Because it reminds me every 30 minutes that God is good and I ought to thank Him for His goodness to me. How are you reminded of His goodness? I hope you have tasted His love, and I hope you are blessed today by His great hand on your life.
Verse 8 “Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!”
