Colossians 3: 9-10
Just like many other things, a lie is not an attribute of someone who has been redeemed. It is a characteristic of a lost sinner. This chapter starts out with “If then, you have been raised with Christ.. “Part of the evidence of salvation is that your character changes.
Has your character changed? Is your character continuing to change? Your character is who you are when no one is watching. When no one is listening …
If then, you have been raised with Christ, the truth is now the herald of your life. Lies and deception (among many other things) no longer have a voice. If then, Christ has given you new life, your old life no longer rules you. Oh, the old life will continue to try to rule.. but you must continually put him down. How do you do that? Through the power of God within you. Through His Word. Through the time you spend with Him. Through fellowship with His people. Through serving others in His church. You are no longer a slave to sin, you are FREE! You are now a slave to the One who set you free.. He is the Christ. The One who conquered death and sin for you. Praise His great, holy, mighty name!!C
Verse 9. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices 10. and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
