Psalm 136: 1-3

It seems we have the same thing written here three times. But on closer examination, we see three different expressions of who God is. Three times he writes “give thanks”. We ought to be a thankful people.

In the first verse, we see the word “LORD” in all caps. This word means “Yahovah” – the eternal, ever existing, eternal, name of God. Then in verse 2, we see “God”, the Supreme control ruler God of the universe. Then in verse 3, we see the word “Lord”, which means Master, or Lord in such a way as to be the One who is worthy to be served. Don’t you love that!?

His Name is eternal, forever, Holy.. He is in total control of this universe…. and He is worthy to be served as Master…
And then.. He reminds us.. “His steadfast love endures forever”! Could it possibly get any better than that!? Then… oh then.. He stepped out of Heaven to become Jesus and died in my place! Man! He loves you! He loves me!

Let’s serve Him today understanding His Name is forever Holy, He is the Mighty to save Ruler, and Master of the universe Savior God. Let Him flow His love on you this morning, and give Him thanks for His steadfast love that lasts forever and ever, and ever, and ever, and …….

Verse 1 “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. 2. Give thanks to the God of gods, for his steadfast love endures forever. 3. Give thanks to the Lord of lords, for his steadfast love endures forever;”
