1 Corinthians 13: 4
“Love” A word we often throw around to mean many things. What is “love”..? We use it to describe our delight for apple pie. We use it to show how much we relish a good snowfall. We use it to show our value of many material things. In our text today, Paul gives us what should be the characteristics of someone who uses this word toward others. We need to be reminded about what this word really is. We say we “love” someone, and now, we have a test for what that really means. If you really love.. It looks like this: Patient. Kind. Others become more important than me, if love is true. Ultimately, it is what the Lord Jesus Christ has for you and me.. And He put the exclamation point on His love at the cross.
Do you really love? Do I? Father, thank you for truly loving us enough, to send your Son to die for us, that we might be free of our sin..
Thank you for Jesus, who took my punishment on that old cross. Help me to love others today..
Verse 4 “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant”
