Jonah 2: 2

Jonah was in trouble. It was his own fault. He was not going the direction God wanted him to go. He was disobedient. He was selfish. He wanted it his way. He refused to do it God’s way. He refused to love his enemies. He was running away from home. He was running from God. And God stopped him in his tracks…. in the belly of a fish.

Has God ever stopped you in your tracks? Has He allowed something in your life, where there is nowhere to turn but to Him? Notice that even though Jonah turned away from God, God still heard his cry. And He will hear your cry. Call out to Him. He will never leave or forsake you. He is faithful, and He loves you, more than you can imagine. He knows what’s best for your life. Trust Him, even though it may seem you are in a dark, dark place, God is with you, if you will let Him be. He loves you…. that’s why He sent Jesus to rescue you from that dark place.

Father, thank you for your great love for me and my friends. Help us today, to cry out to you. Thank you for Jesus, who took our sin away.

Verse 2 “I called out to the LORD, out of my distress, and he answered me; out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and you heard my voice.”
