Philippians 2: 3
Here we see a recipe for unity. That recipe includes humility, and our consideration for others. We live in a day and time that says “take care of number 1”. It is a “me first” culture.Friend, we must fight against that thinking. We must have the mind of Christ. What is the mind of Christ? I’m glad you asked! It is first, having His Spirit indwell me by trusting in Christ for salvation. Then, it is putting self to death, and holding tight to Christ’s example, submitting to Him, and loving others. Everything He did was for others. If we’re not very careful, we will get caught up in the raging flow of a “me first” world. See, we need to constantly remember that this is not our home. We are foreigners in a strange land, but we are commanded to love people, while in that strange land. Especially those who are fighting the same fight that we are. So today… friend, let’s love others… Let’s show them the love of Christ. Then tomorrow, we can do it all over again
Father, here we are again… We need you to rise up within us. Help me and my friends, through your power, to love like Christ loved. Thank you for the One who loved us most, Jesus, who took our place on that cross, so we could be free of our sin, and free to love like you.
Verse 33 “Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”
