Welcome. My name is Bro. Carl Fair and I am the current Senior Pastor for First Baptist Church Dardanelle. I hope these articles are a blessing to you and encourage your walk with Jesus.

Today’s verse is about the words we speak, those heard by man, and those heard by God.My mama used to say, before you let words come out your mouth, make sure they run through your thinker first. The meaning in this text, is to not just let words fly out, especially in times of anger or frustration. That’s rash…. Questions to ask, before spoken, while words are still in our “thinker” are: Will they build up or tear down?- Will they hurt or heal?- Are they true of false? (Even if true, are they in love?) – Are they kind or unkind? – Will I have to ask forgiveness later? Remember, a broken fence is often very hard to repair. Then it says don’t even let your “heart” be hasty to utter a word before God… Did you know that you will give an account for every word AND every thought you ever speak or think? Remember, you can never unspeak a rash word, once it is spoken. You can ask forgiveness, but rash words are often never forgotten. Maybe that’s why it says.. “let your words be few”??

Let me encourage you today friend, to allow the Spirit of Christ to rule in you. Run your words through Him, before you let them fly. Have the mind of Christ, and He will filter what comes out, if you let Him. There is a freedom in knowing your words are pure, and they are constructive, instead of destructive.

Father, we need your power again today, to die to our flesh. Help us to count others more significant than ourselves, and let our words reflect that. Help us to build up and not tear down. Thank you for Jesus, who set us free, and took all our sin away

Verse 22 “Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few.”
