Daniel 10: 12

In today’s text there is much speculation about many things, but there is one thing very clear for us to know. This messenger said to Daniel “from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard. “There is a principle here that is consistent throughout the Bible. Here it is: When we come before our Father God, seeking Him, with a heart that yearns to know and understand what God would have us do, and when we come humble, He hears our prayers. We may not see any results for a time, but we can know He hears us. This messenger said “from the first day… “When was the first day? It was when Daniel determined that he was going to reach the heart of God. That was the day that Daniel started fasting, the day he determined that he desired the fellowship of God even more than food itself, the day he humbled himself before God. It may have taken this messenger 21 days to reach Daniel, but it did not take God 21 days to hear his prayer. It only took his attitude of desperation and humility before God.When we come before God with this earnestness, this desire, this whatever it takes attitude, God hears us… I must ask myself… how long has it been, since my hunger for God, was more intense than my hunger for anything else? Just how earnest are my prayers? How bad do I want God to hear and answer my prayers for my church, for my family, for my land? Friend, will you ask the same?

Father, forgive me for my apathy. Strengthen me and my friends today with your Spirit. Give us understanding. Help us to desire you more.. Thank you for Jesus, who took my sin away…

Verse 12 “Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words.”
