Proverbs 15: 33
The “fear of the Lord”….? Surely, we’re not suppose to “fear” the Lord.. maybe it just means “respect”… NO. It means “fear”. Fear what? Fear His wrath…
See, we know God is a God of great, great Love, right, because He is. He is also a God of great, great wrath. And until we understand how bad sin really is, and that we are all sinners, we will never understand the wrath we really deserve, nor will we understand how Holy He is. Nor will we understand how powerful the blood of Jesus is. Right now, with one hand, He is saying “come to me”, while His other hand is holding back His wrath. And He is getting ready to drop both hands.. and it will then be eternally too late to trust in Christ. When you understand that, then the rest of the verse makes perfect sense…. Oh how He loves you…. Look and see how great His mercy, grace, and forgiveness is…. But oh… do it today. Do it today!
Verse 33 “The fear of the LORD is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor.”
