Romans 8: 18
For the follower of Christ, there is a trade. We trade this life for the next. It’s kinda like trading a penny for a billion dollars! We can not even imagine the glory to come. Christ is the only one who makes this even possible. Because of Christ’s suffering, we are set free from our sin. That’s why, in our suffering, we are more like Christ than any other time, if we react to it like Christ did. How did He react to it? The Roman soldiers spit on Him. They beat Him. They mocked Him. They drove the nails into His hands and feet. They hung Him on that cross. He suffered physically, for you and me. He suffered spiritually when my sin and your sin was placed on Him. Yet His reaction was obedience. Obedience in His suffering. His reaction was forgiveness. Consider Christ in your suffering. Remember what He did for you. Remember what is to come. Then, and only then, will you be able to suffer like Him. Suffering, obedience, forgiveness. Words from the cross. Words to live by . Suffer well my friend. He is worthy. Serve Him well today. He loves you.
Verse 18 “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”
