Psalm 77: 11
The psalmist in today’s text is in distress. But his solution for his distress is remembering what God has done in his past. He remembers God’s faithfulness. He remembers God’s mighty hand. He remembers God’s works. He remembers God’s deliverance. He remembers God’s wonders. He remembers… and is comforted..
Why? Because he knows that God has done it before and He is true to character, so He will do it again. What do you do? You know… when you get distressed? When things turn out wrong? When something goes sideways? When the road you’re on is not the road that you want to travel? When that relationship goes south When that sickness hangs on? When healing does not come What do I do?
We can know that we serve a God, who has no limits, who has no end to His love. We can know that He loves us like no other. We can know that He is refining us, preparing us for a future. And we can remember that He has never failed us, and He will not start now. He is faithful, even in the midst of our pain He is faithful, even when things fall apart.. He is faithful.. it is His very character.. Seek Him. And Remember..
Father, thank you for your past and future faithfulness. Help me and my friends to remember that in tough times. Bring peace and comfort when there seems to be no light. Fill us with your great Spirit, who brings supernatural comfort and peace. Let others around us notice your peace in us. Thank you for Jesus, who takes our sin away..
Verse 11 “I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your wonders of old.”
