I Chronicles 16: 12
In today’s text, King David had gone to great lengths to bring the ark into its proper place. He had assembled the worship team, the ones who were to pray, the ones who were to play instruments, and the ones who were to sing. They even dressed for the occasion. Why? Because the ark represented the presence of God, and they were preparing to worship Him. It was a great time of rejoicing for God’s people.
Today, God’s people still come together to worship Him in what is called the church. We get to worship the King of kings and the Lord of Lords!!! We are no longer under the law, but grace. We now have His Spirit within us. But I’m not sure that we fully understand what church is… It is the gathering of the body of Christ. The ones who worship Him. The ones who pray to Him. The ones who are saved by Him. The ones who are waiting for Him. And the ones who still remember His wondrous works, and His miracles, and His judgments. Are you a part of that gathering weekly? If not, why not?
Father, thank you for the great privilege we have to gather with friends and family, as saints, who come together to worship you every Sunday. Do not let those of us who belong to you, forsake this great opportunity. Thank you for Jesus who takes our sin away..
Verse 12 “Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles and the judgments he uttered,”
