Luke 6: 35-36
Today’s text tells us to “love our enemies”, something completely against our flesh and sin nature. Jesus said if we just love those who love us, we are no different than the unredeemed sinner. Loving our enemy is one of the evidences of true born-again salvation. Many times, we struggle to obey this command. We get bitter when we are mistreated. The Bible tells us that we need the grace of God to love others.
Verse 35 “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. 36. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.”
